NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. THE LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIPS. The first round of the New Plymouth Club's ladies’ chaimpionships has been completed. The results are:— Seniors.—Mrs. Burke lost to Miss Bremer 4 and 3; Miss Read lost to Miss Thomson G and 5; Miss Simpson lost to Mrs. Johns 4 and 3; Mrs. Weston lost to Miss Stanford 5 and 4 ; Miss Morton lost to Mrs. Nicholson 4 and 3; Miss Goldwater lost to Mrs. Williams 1 down at the 19th. Juniors.—Miss Putt lost to Miss Shaw 3 and 1 ; Miss Johns lost to Miss Winfield 3 and 1 ,’ 'Mrs. Anderson lost to Miss Foote 4 and 3; Mrs. Christoffel lost to Miss A. Greig 3 and 1; Miss Barthorp lost to Mrs. Mac Diarmid 19 and 8; Miss P. Greig lost to Mrs. Perry 2 and 1 ; Mrs. Waters lost to Mrs. Hill 4< and 3; Mrs. Seanlon lost to Mrs. Fookes 2 down. At Lake Placid, Hagen and Kirkwood defeated Godchaux and Dun two up over thirtysix holes.
