According to a Geneva message, the United States balloon, piloted by Honeywell, descended in Tapiogyorgye, east of Budapest, and is thus the winner of the race. A Geneva cablegram early in the week announced the start of the Gordon Bennett balloon race, in which there were 19 competitors, three each from Belgium, the United States, Switzerland, Italy and France, and two each from Great Britain and Spain.
