All classes realised present ruling rates, there being an especially good market for dairy cattle. At Stony River, on the Ist inst., a fair offering of cattle came forward, practically all of which sold. Prices were firm. The yarding of dairy stock was disappointing for quality. Store pigs 255, 28s, aged draught mare £l7, yearling heifers 31s, better classes £2 16s, £3 10s. Jersey do. £5 13s 6d, empty heifers £3. £3 12s 6d, yearling steers 265, store cows 14s, 17s, forward conditioned do. 26s to £2 10s, in-calf cows £4 ss, £5, springing do. £5 10s to £lO.

At Waiwakaiho, on August 3, both store and dairy pens were fwtly taxed. A steady demand accounted for practically a full clearance of the former at full market rates. In the dairy pens, cattle showing Jersey strains of good quality created fair inquiry, other sorts meeting with a dragging demand. At a clearance sale on account of J. Lobb. Tuna, on the same day, yearling Jersey heif? . ers made £4 10s, £5 17s 6d, Taimwprth sow £6 10s. The cows, which were late calvers in poor condition, were all disposed of at ruling prices. >
