' A line of skips broke away at six o’clock this morning in the Hikurangi mine as the men were changing shift, and dashed into David Veitch, a married, man, and John Craig, single, killing the latter and seriously crushing the former, who is in hospital. Later. Veitch, the second victim of the Hikurangi accident, succumbed to his injuries in Whangarei hospital at 12.30.
