The Maimyo. the only steamer so far from a German port, landed 138 cases, the whole consignment being Czecho-Slovakian in origin. POLITICS IN QUEENSLAND. In the Assembly, Mr. Fuller, replying affirmatively to a question whether he would consider the advisableness of providing that all goods exposed for sale should plainly show the country of origin, said: “It is a pity we cannot compel some people to have a similar notice on their backs-” SYDNEY HARBOR BRIDGE. Sydney, August 2. Tn the Assembly, the Minister of Works gave notice to introduce the North Shore Bridge Bill, which would be treated as a non-party measure. RECIPROCAL TARIFF DEBATE. Melbourne, August 2. It is unlikely that the House of Representatives will resume the debate on the New Zealand Tariff Treaty before the end of the present week. PUBLIC SERVICE WAGES CUT. Brisbane, August 2. Much dissatisfaction exists in Labor ranks at the action of the Government in reducing the wages of the public servants. Meetings of protest strongly condemned the action as being a repudiation of the principle of arbitration.
