HORRORS IN RUSSIA.
CASES OF CANNIBALISM. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received August 3, 5.5 p.m. Moscow, August 2. A Soviet commission investigated three hundred authenticated cases of cannibalism, some undeniably due to starvation. One witness gave evidence in regard to sixteen people who were killed for food. Although only demented persons or those suffering from hunger attempted cannibalism, the idea gradually spread that human flesh was good to eat.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
