LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY.

THE TARANAKI CENTRE. The monthly meeting of the executive council of the Taranaki head centre of the Royal Life-Saving Society was held at New Plymouth last night. Mr. A. R. Standish was in the chair. Copies of the remits of a special and an ordinary meeting of the Dominion Executive Council were received from the secretary, and the centre was advised to amend its constitution according to the following amendment of douse 5, which had been passed: "The headquarters of the Dominion executive shall be at Christchurch, and shall be moved only by a vote of two-thirds of the head centre delegates appointed to the council, sueh motion to be passed at an annual or special meeting of the Dominion Council, one month’s notice of such meeting to be given to the council, and a copy of stich notice of motion to be forwarded by the council to each head centre at least fourteen days before such meeting.” A letter was received from the hon. secretary of the Canterbury head centre enclosing a copy of their reply to the Wellington ceni tre’s suggestion regarding changing the loca- ! tion of the executive council. This reply ! stated at some length the Canterbury centre’s i reasons for opposing the change. On the imo- , tion of Mr. Standish it was decided to sena j to Mr. B. S.
