EXPELLED FROM COMMONS.
EXIT HORATIO BOTTOMLEY. A PLAUSIBLE LETTER. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, August 1. Mr. Horatio Bottomley has been expelled from the House of Commons. The Speaker read a long letter in which Bottomley expressed his regret at having brought a slur on the House of Commons. Whatever irregularities there had been and however unorthodox his methods in the conduct of his concerns, they had been carried on witli the most patriotic objects. He was never guilty of conscious fraud. Hi? expulsion from the House of Commons was a greater punishment and more enduring than any sentence of a court of law. He protested that he had been the victim of an appalling error of justice. Mr. Chamberlain’s motion was unanimously agreed to.
