INDUCEMENTS FOR TEACHERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington. Last NightThe annual conference of the School Committees’ Association passed a resolution urging the Minister to offer better inducements for men to enter the teaching profession; also to extend and perfect the scheme for the establishment of model schools. MUNICIPALITY’S LOSS ON FISH. Auckland, Last Night. The City Council, by eleven votes to nine, rejected Sandford Ltd.’s offer of £20.000 for the municipal fish business, which during the nine years of its existence has shown considerable loss, the idebit last year being £6106.
