NAVY LEAGUE.
DEPUTATION TO PREMIER. By Telegraph.—Preas Association. Wellington, August 2. At the Navy League Conference, resolutions were that it is desirable that an opportunity for naval in lieu of military training, given under the regulations regarding the New Zealand naval reserve, be extended to boys from 14 to 18 years of age. Mr. Massey, in reply to the Navy League’s deputation, gave no promise that he would increase New Zealand© naval contribution by a definite sum. He agreed with spokesmen that the Dominion should come nearer Britain's standard. What New Zealand was doing at present in a time of depression was-an earnest of what she was prepared to do in future when things improved-wa© suggested that various parts of. pi-re should use the reparation money from Germany for naval defence.
