TELEPHONE TO OHURA.
THE CONNECTION TO BE MADE. DECISION OF CABINET. (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter) Wellington, Last Night. Mr. R. Masters (Stratford) lias been informed that a start is to be made at last with the establishment of telephone communication between the Ohura and the Taranaki district. The matter has been receiving attention in the district for the last fifteen years. The Postmaster-General has written to Mr. Masters stating that Cabinet decided on Saturday to authorise the erection of the telephone line between Ohura and Tatu. Tenders are to be called for the poles immediately and a sum of £2BOO has been provided as a first instalment of the cost. The length of the line to be constructed is 17 miles and the department will undertake the work soon as the condition of the roads permits.
