PEDIGREE JERSEYS.
SALE AT HAWERA. The annual sale of two-year-old pedigree Jersey heifers on account of Messrs. A. and J. O’Donnell was held in the Egmont A. and P. showgrounds at Hawera yesterday. A large and representative number of dairy farmers were in attendance, and there was spirited competition for the various lots offered. The heifers entered the ring in excellent condition, and the majority were showing up well. Some were, however, backward, and for these lower prices prevailed. Considering the adverse times the prices realised must be considered extremely satisfactory, reflecting the opinion of fanciers on the quality of the stock offered. The market was topped'by Mifanwy of Rosy Creek, a beautiful heifer by Rainbow’s King out of Mifanwy, which cot% is considered one of the best types in the Dominion. This heifer brought 200gns., paid by Mr. P. McGovern, of Te Awamutu, who also secured Rosy Creek Margot at ITOgns. and Laryne of Rosy Creek at 86gns. Mr. E. Griffiths purchased Perfect Life at Sugns., Rosy Creek Peony at 40gns., and Fideie of Rosy Creek at 50gns. Another beautiful heifer, Fairy of Rosy Creek, was sold to Mr. E.
