Neale presiding over a fair attendance. A report covering the operations- of the club for the year was presented. In moving its adoption, the president congratulated the club on the success attained during the year, and thanked the lady members for their help in promoting the wellbeing and health of the club. The courts, he said, were without a doubt the best in Taranaki, and the chib would hold its own against any in the province. He drew attention to the necessity of a better state of finance. When the club’s liabilities were paid off, all profits accruing would go to the trustees of the church, but it would be some time before the sum borrowed for the construction of the courts would be paid off. The sum'of £2O had been paid to the trustees in reduction of the liability, but nothing had yet been paid of the principal sum of £350. The statement of receipts and expenditure showed a small .credit balance.

The report and balance sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President, Rev. L. B. Neale; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. W. Boon, A. North, A .Moon, A. R. Masters, J. Masters, R. Masters. M.P., H. Masters, H. Dickenson, A. Dickenson, P. T. Hale, G. E. Foster, R. H. White, R. Wellington, J. B. Clemow, J. Richards, J. W. Griffin, T. I. Lamason, H. Bake, J. Smith, T. Smith, J. H. Gill, V. Hosking, W. T. Clemow, —. Carmen, J. W. McMillan, F. Ranford, L.. M. Moss, C. E. Bellringer, J. McMillan, J. W. Mail, G.XSmith, L. Baskin, W. Rudkin, and W. E. Laurence; secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. G. Lowry; executive, Messrs. J. W. Boon, L. Berg, L. Baird, L. B. Neale, F. Jackson, G. E. Bocock, E. G. Foster, Mesdames Gatton, Lowry, Misses Butcher and Boon; courts committee, Messrs. W. Rudkin, W. Berg, A. Cameron, J. W. Boon, and Brandon; delegate to association, Mr. J. W. Boon; club captain, Mr. G. E. Bocock; vice-captain, Mr. L. Baird; vice-chairman, Mr. J. W. Boon; afternoon tea convenors, Mesdames Jackson, Kerswell, and Miss Foster. To arrange a social function in the near future, a committee, consisting of Mesdames Lightband (convenor), Lowry, Miss Moon, and Messrs. D. Macalister and B. Davis, was set up. The executive was instructed to bring down a complete set of rules of constitution.

The opening day was fixed for the first Thursday in September, the official opening day being set down for Labor Day, and it was decided to hold a social on the opening night. Arrangements were made for a working bee at the courts on Thursday next for the purpose of planting hedges, repairing the fences and putting the courts in order. Mr. J. W. Boon promised to donate sufficient trees for the planting of a hedge, and was accorded a vote of thanks. Mr. Boon announced that a coach would be available for players at a rate of 1/per hour per member. The subscription was fixed at the same figure as last year—men £1 Is, ladies 15s, and juniors ss. The president expressed* appreciation of the services rendered by the secretary. STRATFORD CO-OP. FACTORY. NEW SEASON COMMENCES. The Stratford Farmers’ Co-op. Dairy Factdry opened for the season to-day in all its branches, excepting Huinga, which will open at a later date. Two of the branches had been working throughout the winter, but the main factory and some of the branches closed down to allow of repairs and renewals to the plant on a fairly extensive scale. A very satisfactory supply of milk was received this morning. An inspection of this factory impresses one with the importance of the dairy industry and the scientific methods of manufacturing and handling the produce. Whether the new season will be as prolific as that of last year is impossible to say, but it is probably too much to expect that the supply to the Stratford association’s factories will again increase by 7,000,000 lb of milk, as was the case last year, or even maintain that remarkable increase.
