NAVY LEAGUE.
AIMS OF THE MOVEMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, August I. A conference of delegates of branches of the Navy League from all parts of the Dominion is being held here. The Mayor extended a hearty welcome to delegates. Mr. R. D. D- McLean. Hawke’s Bay, was elected chairman of the conference. and Mr. R. Darroch secretary. In response to a communication sent From Wellington the following cable was received from London: “The Tx»ndon iranoh stands for nothing less than a ano Power standard. It emphasises the paramount importance of educational work on sea power past, present and future. It stands for the teaching of the proper spirit of loyalty and Patriotism to the children of the Empire.”
