Dr- Cilento, Commonwealth medical officer for tropical hygiene, has returned after an absence of two years studying the methods of prevention and cure of tropical disease*. durins which time he had made close investigations in New OTIMA. The results emphasised the fact that whites could live and thrive in the tropics if they would readjust their ideas about food habits and clothing. Dr. Cilento said conformity to correct tropical hygiene would mean that Australians could administer New Guinea <n comfort and with efficiency. The greatest problem there was to save the native race, which was fast dying out.
