COMMUNITY CLUB.
THE MONTHLY MEETING. Ihe monthly meeting of the Territorial and Cadet Community Club was held in the Victoria League rooms on Wednesday night. Mr. C. H. Wccton presided. Mrs. Burgess stated that the canteen was showing a profit so far. She wished to acknowledge the gift of an urn from Mrs. Wallis, of the Waratah. The chairman referred to the generosity of Mrs. Burgess and Captain Hartnell towards the club. It was decided that the Legion of Frontiersmen, the R.S.A., and the South African Veteran* be approached with regard to sending a delegate to the hall on parade nights. On Mrs. Burgess’ <siigge*tion the matter of changing the name of the club wa»> dirscussed. The Territorial and Cadet Canteen Club was suggested, but after some discussion the matter was left over. . It was decided by the men’s committee to have one member in attendance on each parade night, and an order of rotation will be arranged. Mrs. Burgees said the Choral Soc'ety* had kindly offered to,give a half-hour concert occasionally. The matter of arrangement was left in the hands qf Mrs. Burgc-n. The possibility of holding a territorial dance was also discussed with the object of raising funds to provide a piano for the club. The u«se of the billiard tables was kindly granted by the Defence Department, and Dr. Thomson moved that a mini-, mum charge be made for each game tb defray possible expenses. He suggested that 3d for 10 minutes or 25 up. or 6d for <po would be sufficient. This was agreed to.
