LONDON MARKETS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn --Copyright. Received July 27, 5.5 p.m. London, July 26, At the wool sale there was u poor selection of merinos. There was strong Continental competition for superb, especially Swiss and German. Top prices for average sorts i were firm. There was stronger and wider competition for crossbreds at. full rates, ■ At the tallow sale 2115 rusks were offered and 1043 sold. Fine beef brought 435, others being unchanged. At the sale of rabbit skins 850 were offered and 740 sold. It was an irregular market. Good hatters’ sorts advanced 10 per cent.; tlnpulled declined 10 per cent.; Australian furriers unchanged; New Zealand furriers unchanged to 10 per cent, decline. Ltd., reportsAt Douglas, on July 17, sheep were in fair supply and met with a good demand. Both store and dairy cattle sold at full market rates. Forward wethers 20s Bd, hoggets 16s 7d, mixed aged ewes 14s 7d, 17s, 17s ? 3d, aged do. 7s 3d', 7s '7d, store cows 20s, fat do. £3 17s 6d, yearling Jersey heifers £3‘ ss, incalf heifers £5 6s, £6 15s, backward do. £4 ss. £4 10s, dairy cows £9 10s, £l2, £l3, inferior do. £-5 10s, £« 10s, £7 10s. At Stony River on the 18th inst. there was a good yarding of all classes of cattle, most of which was satisfactorily sold. Store pigs 30s, store i-ows 275, £2, fat do. £3 2s 6d. £3 10s, £4 2s 6d, yearling heifers 355, £2 18s 6d, empty do. £3 7s Gd, £4 ss, in-calf cows £5, £5 10s, £7 10s, springing do. £B, £lO, better classes £l3, hack gelding £7., unbroken fillies £ll, £l7, aged draught gelding £l7. At the same sale a team of working bullocks realised from £6 to £2l per pair. At W'aiwakaiho, on July 20, a fair offering of all classes afforded brisk competition, throughout. Store cows 17s, 20s, 22s 6d, fat do. £C, yearling l.cifers £2 7s, £3, £3 10s, Jersey "j. £5 14s GcT, in-calf. Jersey heifers £6. £7, springing cows £l2, £l2 10s, backward calvers £7, £8 10s. We have conducted the following clearing sales, and report:— At Tataraimaka, on account of Messrs. Still Bros., on the 17th inst., rhe herd of 40 cows, which were in rather low condition, made satisfactory values, mostly selling at £lO to £l4, horses up to £l5. On account of Mr. W. H. Tippins, Uruti, on July 19. the herd qf 50 cows sold well, the majority selling from £8 to £l2 10s. The he -e_. sold exceptionally well, a five-year-old (Laught mare realising £4O. On account of Messrs. Pennington Bros., Ngaere. on the 20th inst,, the herd of 45 cows, which were carrying a • good deal of age. made the satisfactory average of £8 13s. At Waiwakaiho, on the same day, a small herd of 24 cows on account of Mr. E. J. Baker, Koru, made up to £l4 10s. On July 18, on account of Mr. R. S. Camphell, Pihama, 51 cows sold very well, the best making £2O, whhat the herd averaged £9. Sundries and horses were keenly sought after. On July 21. on account of Messrs. Perrot t Bros., Kaimata, a ery heavy list of stock, implements and sundries was offered, all of which Sold exceptionally Well. The cows were in very good order, and attracted much attention. selling mostly between £lO and £2O. Two pedigree Jersey cows realised 12 to 20 gns. each, yearling pedigree bull 25gns., two lines of very chc-iee ye&riu : Jersey heifers sold at £6 16s Cd r.ud £6 16s, others £4 2s 6d. Two-year empty Jersey cross do. £6 ss, sows up to £6 15a, yearling bulls £4, draught horses £3O 10s to £3B, half draught do. to £24 10s, hack and harness gelding £l6 10s.
