AIR SERVICE.
BETWEEN LONDON AND BOMBAY. PROPOSALS OUTLINED. By Telegraph —Press Assn —Copyright. Received July 25, 8.30 p.m. London, July 24. The Government is considering a joint definite proposal by the Shell Company and Burnely and Vickers Company to promote an air mail and passenger service to India. The fares from London to Bombay, first class, would be £7O, second class £45, with monthly return fares of £9O and £5O. The time of the journey would be 3* days. The promoters only require a subsidy sufficient to return 4J per cent, on debentures and 6 per cent, on ordinary shares, both tax free. They suggest that India should contribute £40,000 per annum for ten years.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Asns.
