IMMIGRATION.
NEW ZEALAND’S POLICY. GOOD SETTLERS WANTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Uast Night. Immigration was mentioned in the House this afternoon. Replying to Mr. H. E. Holland (Leader of the Labor Party), Mr. Massey said immigration was part of the Government’s policy. What this country wanted was as many people as we could absorb, and if we could get half a million so much the better. He thought members would find the present unemployment was only a temporary phase, and would soon pass' away. There were many more people in Britain than there was work for, and we should do our best to assist them to find their way to the Dominions as long as the immigrants were of the right class. An officer in New Zealand was leaving for London shortly to take over the management of the Immigration Department.
