Eastern Sea, from New York, end of August. PIAKO THIS MORNING. The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Piako (8283 tons), which is to load 15,000 freight carcases of frozen meat at New Plymouth, was expected to leave the Wanganui roadstead at midnight, being- due here at 8 o’clock this morning. She proceeds later to Wellington. THE RARAWA. Passengers and 140 tons of general cargo were brought from Onehunga by the Rarawa, which arrived at 5.30 yesterday morning. The vessel sailed.north again at 8.30 last night. KAITUNA TO SAIL. The Kaituna is to sail at noon to-day for Greyxnouth, where she will load timber for Sydney and Newcastle. KAHIKA NEXT WEEK. The Kahika is to leave Dunedin to-day for New Plymouth, via way ports, and is due here with general cargo next Tuesday. KAIKOURA’S MOVEMENTS. The Kaikoura. at present at Auckland is due at New Plymouth about August 12 to discharge English cargo and load frozen meat, the quantity of which it not ascertainable. THE PORT ALBANY. The C. and D. liner Port Albany is to leave Hobart to-day for New Plymouth, and is due here on Monday to load Homeward produce, WAITEMATA LOADING. The Waitemata is now loading at Pacific Coast ports for Napier, New Plymouth, Dunedin, Bluff, Melbourne, and Sydney. She is expected to clear San Francisco during the first week in August. NIAGARA LEFT VANCOUVER. The Royal Mail steamer Niagara is reported by cable to have sailed from Vancouver on Saturday for Auckland and Sydney. She is due there on August 11. THE ARAWA FIRE. A Wellington telegram states that the hatches were TTTted "off No. 3 hold of the Arawa yesterday morning, and it was discovered that the fire, which evidently broke out underneath the meat cargo, had been extinguished. The damage is not extensive. WILTSHIRE NOT INSURED. Commenting' on ihe wrecking of the Wiltshire, the marine insurance correspondent of the London Daily -Telegraph stated that the ship’s cargo was insured in the* market, but the ship itself was not insured, as the Federal Line is controlled by the P. and O„ who have their own insurance fund and take their own risk. The vessel must have been worth nearly £250,000, and underwriters could re- . joice that this part of the loss at any rate 1 will not fall on them. OVERSEA MOVEMENTS.
