SOUTH CANTERBURY HUNT KTEBPLECHASE MEETING By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. The South Canterbury Hunt steeplechase meeting was held on Saturday, in perfect weather and before a large attendance. The track was in splendid order. The totalisator handled £14,256, compared with £16,460 last year. In the Pareora Steeplechase, D. McMullan, the rider of Swindasa, sustained a broken collarbone, and A. S.> Ellis, the rider of Fortune Hunter, severe injuries to the face. Mr. G. Gerard, an amateur rider, broke his nose when Malincourt fell. Results : SOUTH CANTERBURY STEEPLECHASE.— Whipcord 1, Master Hamilton 2, Strathglass 3. Also started: Glenisla, Sebastian, Juan, Staff Officer, Sartollne, Canblnl.
