A new organisation styled the Empire Development Union is being formed headed by Viscount Long, Sir Vincent Gaillard and Mr. W. A. Hewina, with the object of stimulating trade within the Empire. The Union has issued a statement dedaring that the present collapse of the export trade, the widespread unemployment and the embarrassment of national finances demand treatment on the lines of statesmanship laid down by the Imperial Conference of 1917-18.—Aus.-NX Cable Awn.
