HIDDEN ARMS.
MANY FINDS IN GERMANY STORED BY MONARCHISTS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Berlin, July 18. An unexpected result of Dr. Rathenau’s murder is a tacit coalition of otherwise conflicting political factions, who are vying with each other in ferreting out secret hoards of arms and war material. The police hitherto have not displayed, excessive zeal. Hidden weapons are now wanted as evidence of complicity in the conspiracy, and. the police, aided by socialist organisations throughout the country, are working with ruthless zeal. Hoards of rifles, machine-guns and ammunition are found almost daily. The most recent find ’is five hundred machine-guns at Stuttgart. Simultaneously Majority Socialists pursued a clue with Holmes-iike skill and unearthed in oii old barracks in Potsdam parts of machine-guns and rifles, two hundred loaded bombs, ammunition, side-arms 1 and miscellaneous equipment bearing , the Swastika emblem, which is the symbol of the monarchists and anti-Sem-ites.-—Aus.-N.Z.
