Okaiawa. also protested against Patea playing W. Cornwall, an Alton player, who had not stood down for two Saturdays. It was stated that Cameron was an Okaiawa player who had visited Kaponga on the date in question, and was asked to fill a vacancy in the Kaponga team, which he did. He had actually been picked to play for Okaiawa on that date. It was resolved to accept the explanation and dismiss the protest, the fee to be refunded. Okaiawa’s protest was also dismissed. PLAY-OFFS AND REP. MATCHES. Mr. Campbell Jackson, on behalf of the Stratford Club, asked that the junior play-off should be arranged as soon as possible, as there would be trouble in getting a team owing to the milking season coming on. It was stated that the southern junior competition would finish in about a fortnight, and it was resolved to play the semi-final between the winners of the central and southern divisions on the first available Thursday at Elthaan. The King Country Union also asked for a match at Taumarunui, suggesting that the team go on tc Taumarunui.—lt was stated this was impossible. The question of playing a match in aid of the unemployment fund at New Plymouth was discussed, a suggestion being made that the A and B match should be played. This was considered impracticable, but it was decided to endeavour to arrange a match between Hawera and Tukapa on August 2. The chairmqn and Mr. Garcia were appointed to manage the Taranaki team on its southern tour, and Mr. C. Brown was appointed as coach. > GENERAL. The Stratford Domain Board had agreed that Rugby football should have first call on the ground.
