MAGISTRATE’S COURT CYCLING WITHOUT LIGHTS. July 19. At the, fortnightly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court, this morning, befort Mr. A. M. Mowlem, S.M., another batch of night cyclists appeared, charged with riding without lights, contrary to the county by-laws. R. Russ, Alan Close, George Lempero and Norman Fabish were each fined - £l, with costs 7s, and Leslie Tracey, a boy who said he had no father or mother and earned no wages, was admonished and discharged. TRUANCY CASE.
Clement Bulawski was charged with failing to send his child to the Toko School, as required by the Education Act. George Pascoe said the case was not a serious one, but the family of three children took turn about in staying away from school. The child in respect to whom the charge was laid had been away from school on 12 half-days during the quarter. Bulawski was fined £l, with costs 7s. UNDEFENDED CASES. « Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following undefended cases:— Whangamomona County Council v. G. A. Swanger. £29 12s 2d (costs £3 ss) ; State Advances Superintendent v. J. Marshall, £4 10s (costs 8s); Masters, Ltd., v. J. Mills, £3 5s (costs £1 9s 6d); Farmers’ Coi op. v. Putt Bro.s, £8 13s (costs £1 8s i 6d); same v. A. E. Weir, £l7 14s 9d (costs £2 14s); J. J. H. Woisin v. B. J. Fabish, £39 12s 5d (costs £4 2s 6d) ; Kleeman, Bishop and Co. v. Bruce D. Stone, £22 (costs £3 Is 6d) ; Dominik Sisanich v. John Marriner, £3O Is 3d (costs £4 Is 6d) ; D. Steven v. A. McMeekan, £2 13s fid (costs £1 6s 6d) ; Geo. Syme and Co. v.
