At the wool sales there was a miscellaneous selection, and 6072 bales of Australian. 3126 New Zealand, and 3973 Puntas were offered to a very large attendance, including United States. German. French and Swiss buyers. There was a strong and buoyant tone, and everything was cleared. Prices were well maintained for all sorts, with a hardening tendency for best merinos and fine crossbreds. The general outlook is considered undoubtedly good, as consumption is not only good, but it shows a tendency towards expansion. Increasing activity prevails in most centres. Nolan and Co. report a good attendance of buyers at their monthly sale of hides and skins held at New Plymouth on Tuesday. Competition was good, light and medium-weight hides showing a slight, advance. Heavies wore easier. Calfskins also declined slightly. Sheepskins are improving.
