A case has commenced in which the Graziers’ Union is proceeding against the Australian Workers’ Union, Henry Boote (editor of the newspaper The Worker), and John Barnes and Arthur Blakely (officials of the Australian Workers’ Union), for allegedly encouraging persons bound by an award under the Commonwealth Arbitration Act to refuse to accept employment. / Counsel for the Graziers’ Union emphasised the seriousness of the charge, stating that when an organisation such as the Australian Workers’ Union determined to flout the law a grave situation arose. It was not only a question, between employer and employee, but involved the whole country. The hearing was adjourned until the 24th inst.
