THE NEW ZEALAND TEAM. TOUR OF AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Wellington, Last Night. W. A. Ford (Canterbury), who was unable to play In the North-South match on account of an injured: leg, has been chosen to fill the vacancy in the New Zealand team caused through Byrne being unable to make the trip. Byrne was selected to replace Siddellb. The New Zealand team is assembling in Wellington to-day and to-morrow morning. The dates fur the matches in Australia are July 29 and August 2,5, 7 and 9. Messrs. H. Masters (Stratford) and P. Hickey (Clifton), Taranaki’s representatives in the New Zealand team, left by the mail train yesterday morning for Wellington. MAORIS RETURN HOME. SEVERAL PLAYERS INJURED. Auckland, Last Night. The Maori footballers returned from Sydney to-day. All the injuries are minor ones, the most serious being that of the captain (Jacobs), who broke a blood vessel in a leg. Nine men are still suffering from injuries.
