BOXING.
POOLEY v. WHITAKER. MATCH AT NEW PLYMOUTH. The Taranaki Boxing Association has arranged a match between Pooley and Whitaker to ibe staged at their next contest at New Plymouth on August 12. Pooley defeated Cadman at Auckland the other day i n a professional heavyweight match on points in a fifteen rounds contest, and his meeting with Whitaker will arouse considerable interest. This will be the most important match staged by "the Taranttl<i Association and a splendid tussle is expected.
