CHASE AFTER MURDERERS. THE BERLIN SENSATION * By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 12, 9.5 p.m. Berlin. July 12. The search for Kern and Fischer, Dr. Rathenau’s assassins, is developing into an am wring man-hunt in Central Prussia. The police command consists of hundreds of armed motor-cars, bicycles and dogs. The fugitives were first traced to Lenxen, on the Elbe, where they were nearly captured. Thence they were chased through Mecklenburg and Hanover, into Saxony. They are now within a cordon from which escape is believed to be impossible. If, however, they succeed in reaching Bavaria, they will escape.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn. LUDENDORFF ARRESTED. Received July 12, 8.15 p.m. Berlin, July 12. Ludendorff was arrested in connection with Dr. Rathenau’s assassination. He was taken to the police station, but was released after making a statement.
