President Harding, addressing the Budget Bureaux, emphasised the need for economy and the necessity for keeping the Budget within the estimated revenue, which for 1924 is 3108 million dollars. The President said: “Our country is one of the few in the world which is now paying its way as it goes, and I must regard with disfavor any tendencies to interfere with this condition or to increase taxes.”
