New York, July fIL i The estimated cost to the United StaXfeia of scrapping vessels under the Washington Naval Treaty will be five hundred miffiou dollars. Reimbursement to contractors fot uncompleted vessels, and payment for labor in breaking up existing ships, are estimated at seventy milfions.
