SOLDIER TENANTS.

PROTECTION TO BE RESTORED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, July 10, Cabinet has considered over the weekend the question of again extending protection to soldier tenants. It has been ruled by the Supreme Court that the Act of last session placed soldiers on the same -footing as ordinary tenants. The effect of the Act was certainly a surprise to members, and it is definite that some form of protection will be restored, but, although the proposal is taking shape, it is not yet in final form.
