According to the Daily Express, at the conclusion of the game at Wimbleton, Mdlle- Lenglen, waving her racquet triumphantly, said: “Now, Mrs. diallory, I have proved to you to-day what I could have done in New York last year.” Mrs. Mallory replied coldly: “You have done to me to-day what I did to you at New York last year; you have beaten me.” Mrs. Mallory later stated in an interview that she was anxious to meet Mdlle. Lenglen as early as possible and whenever she was ready. PLAY IN AMERICA. Received July 10. 8.20 p.mNew York, July 10.
