TARANAKI AFFILIATED CLUBS.

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The annua] meeting of the above association took place at Hawera on Wednesday last, Mr. T. Lawson presiding. Delegates from the New Plymouth Club. C.E.M.S. Club (Eltham). South Taranaki Club (Hawera) and Egmont Club (Stratford) were present. The .annual report congratulated the New Plymouth Club and Egmont Club on winning the championship shields for billiard-; and' snooker, respectively. Thanks were tendered to Mr. E. S. Rutherford for donating the chess shields. The balance sheet showed a small debit balance,, which was considered very satisfactory. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. It was decided to write the Returned Soldiers’ Clubs in Taranaki inviting them to affiliate. with the association. The meeting placed on record its appreciation of the services rendered by Mr. G. W. Bennett, who has represented the Eltham Club since the inception of the association, and regretting his departure from the district. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. A- K. Smart; vice-presi-dents, Messrs T. Stauners, T. Aylward and Brunette; executive, Messrs Smart. Stanners, Aly ward. Brunette. Lawson, Pratt. Bates and E. L. Humphries; hon. secretary, Mr. Sidney Ward. It was decided that the shield matches between South Taranaki and New Plymouth Chibs be played at StratfordIt was also decided to have a social in the Egmont Club rooms at Stratford, at which members of all the affiliated clubs' be invited, and that in addition to the challenge shields being presented to the winning clubs, each chib will be represented by its best billiard and snooker player, and that they play off for the affiliated clubs’ championship. A gold medal will be presented to the winner of each competition. A hearty vote of thanks to the South Taranaki Club for the yse of its rooms to hold the meeting terminated the meeting. The following fixtures were drawn "P:- „ ' W2S-S® First Round. South Taranaki v. New Plymouth, at Stratford; Egmont Club v. C.E.M.SClub at Stratford; New Plymouth Club iv. Egmont Club at New Plymouth; South Taranaki Club v. Egmont Club, at Hawera; C.E.M.S- Club v. 'South Taranaki Club at Eltham: New Plymouth Club v. C.E.M.S. Club at New Plymouth. The first round is to be completed by August 31st-
