ELECTION OF OFFICERS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, July 7. The New Zealand Alliance conference has finished its business. The officers were elected as follow: Mr. A. R. Atkinson, president; executive, the Hon. C. M. Luke. Revs. Comrie, Rollings. Major and Burton, Messrs. J. W. Brown, Barratt. Denton, Fiest, Helver, Morice, D. L. Smith and Taylor. Resolutions were passed thanking the Education Department for report 13 on alcohol and the Minister and Department for their reply to the Moderate League, also to the Anglican Synod for its condemnation of the liquor traffic. It was announced that the Rev. Mr. Hammond would extend his stay in New Zealand to help the prohibition campaign.
