NO INCREASE OF LOANS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Minister for Finance (Mr MaseeyX informed Mr. R. Masters (Stratford) in the House to-day that the limit of £5OOO on loans to local bodies from the State Advances Department could not be raised at present the old figure of £19,000, as there was a great ruff on the depart-* inent’s funds. There were other Government lending departments that could probably be induced to meet the needet of local bodies.
