TARANAKI v. WANGANUI. Messrs. Johnson, Davidson and Burgess have selected the following Taranaki team to play a Wanganui representative team at Hawera on Wednesday next: Goal, T. Bennie (K.). Full baeks: Wilton (H.), McGuinness (E-). Halves: Page (E.), Nicolls (K.), Free (E-). Forwards: W. Bennie (K.), Pennington (E.), Henrickson (E.), Briggs (K.), Frethey (E.). Emergencies: Backs—Des Forges (K.), Evetts (I.); forwards—McCarthy (K.), Greaves (M.). Taranaki Avon the Nordern Cup last year, and will defend it against Wanganui on 14th inst., and should they win, against Wairarapa, on August 3, at Eltham; and Poverty Bay on a date to be arranged. A match has also been arranged with the Auckland representative team at Eltham on August 21.
