SOLAR ECLIPSE.

' ELABORATE PREPARATIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Sydney, July 5. Elaborate preparations are being made for the observation of the eclipse of the sun on September 21 at a line of stations along the centrla track of the eclipse stretching across northern Australia, from Condon, on the Indian Ocean, to Ballina, New South Wales. The situation and climatic conditions i along the greater part of this line are regarded as such as to lend themselves ■ to favorable observations- Several townships, fortunately for the convenience of observers, lie within the zone of totality. Interest in the eclipse is increasing with the arrival of distinguished astronomers, who have already begun to gather for the great day bringing special instruments. One of the principal objects of the observations will be the testing of Einstein’s theory of relativity.
