ASSAULT IN BERLIN.
STUDENTS ATTACK HERR HARDEN. ONE MAN ARRESTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 5, 5.5 p.m. Berlin, July 4. The attack on Herr Maximilian Harden, the distinguished German journalist and politician, was the work of two students belonging to the band which plotted Dr. Rathenau’s death. One of the assailants was caught owing to the prompt action of Herr Harden’s daughter. While her father was lying stunned and apparently dead, she cycled to the police station and put detectives on the murderers’ trail. In a few minutes one man was found hiding in a wood and the arrest of the other is momentarily expected. The man arrested had a cross around his neck, showing that he belonged to the Consul organisation. Herr Harden is now conscious, and is believed to be out of danger. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
