IVOOL SALES REVIEWED. *A<udved June 29, 9.40 p.m. London, June 28. The wool sales have closed. There was a good attendance throughout, American and Continental buyers being keen operators, while the home trade was more reserved. There was increased activity towards the close. Merinos (average selection) and super wools were in good demand at full late rateo. Average sorts were a little irregular, but there was no quotable diange. Shabby and inferior lots showed a fire per cent, decline. Scoured wools met with strong competition at the full May rates. There were big offerings of crossbreds and considerable weakness In the first week, but Improving towards the . close. Fine sorts realised May rates; medii unis 7% to 10 per cent, decline; shabby and I coarse grades 10 per cent. - decline; scoured ; crossbreds were In strong demand at firm rates; slips made good sales at full May levels; lambs (fair selection) 5 per cant, decline. o Wheat cargoes are flrun in sympathy with an advance in America. At the tallow sales 2745 casks were offered and 931 sold. The demand was quiet and prices were unchanged. Walhi Junction shares.—Buyers 7s 9d; sellers 9s 6d. The Berrlma’s apples are turning out in the best condition of the season, but the demand is not brisk. Quotations: Stunners 12s Od to 14s; Five Crown 12s fid; Cbxs 9s fid; Spearmints Ils; Kings Pippins Ils to 12s.
