There was a rather sensational ending to the charge against a well-known trainer at Trentham of having tampered with a girl not quite 14. In the box the girl said he wae not the man. Although she had told the police and her parents he was, she alleged she did. not know who the man was and had never seen him since, nor could she give any description of him Her parents said the girl had told the same story up to Tuesday nigM and then said it was not accused. Medical evidence was that the girl had been tampered with. The Magistrate said the case would have to he dismissed, but he refused expenses to the parents, saying they would have to put up with it if they had a lying little daughter.
