HOLD AMERICANS FOR RANSOM. By Telegraph.—Press Amu.—Copyright. Washington, June 27. The State Department has been advised that 40 Americans have been captured by Mexican bandits near Tampico and held for ransom. The Cortez Oil Company’s property has also been seized. ' The Secretary of State (Mr. C. E. Hughes) made a strong demand that the Mexican Government should act immediately to suppress banditary, secure the release of the Americans and recapture the property.
