BRITISH LABOR.
EVIDENCE OF LOYALTY. SOVIET DENOUNCED COMMUNISTS REJECTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, June 28. At the Labor Conference Mr. Cramp moved a resolution denouncing the Soviet’s treatment of social revolutionaries. He said the Soviet violated the best instincts of humanity and hindered the progress of Socialism and democracy throughout the world. The resolution was carried with a few dissentients, who denounced it as an attempt to discredit Lenin and the Soviet. The Conference, on a card vote, rejected a resolution to admit the Communist party to affiliation by 3,087,000 to 261,000. Received June 29, 5.5 p.m. London, June 28. At the Labor Congress Mr. Hodges, speaking on a motion to affiliate with Communists, said people who proclaimed Communism in this country were intellectual slaves of Moscow. Not only would Communists not be admitted to the Labor Party, but their theory of Government must be fought by the party. Mr. Ramsay Macdonald stated it was imperative for the party to tell the Communists: “Whatever your activities are you cannot belong to us.” The voting received great cheering.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
