The railway working account for the four-weekly period ended May 27 is as follows (shillings and pence omitted) : North Island.—Revenue £286,666} expenditure, £257,857. *, South Island.—Revenue £231,706 i expenditure £204,858. / Totals.—Revenue £518,376; expend if ture £462,715. The percentage of revenue expended was 85.41.
