ECHO OF A STRIKE.

STRIKERS TO BE PROSECUTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The first batch of summonses in connection with the freezing workers’ strike has been issued at the instance of the Labor Department. The persons proceeded against are certain workers, who, previous to the strike, were employed at one or other of the four freezing works around Christchurch, arid who are now alleged ‘3 be on strike. In each instance, the amount claimed is £lO. The department’s action has been taken under Section 5 of the Industrial, Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1908, and the hearing of the informations will be before a magistrate. The date fixed for the hearing July 13.
