HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE. M McCleary lodges protest. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin. Last Night. Brian McCleary, who was knocked out by McQuarrie in the boxing contest for the New Zealand heavyweight championship on. Monday night, has lodged a protest on the ground that he was declared the winner at the conclusion of the eleventh round when an announcement was made by the master of ceremonies that McQuarrie's hand ■broken. The protest will be dealt with to-morroW night. Meantime the paying over of thtf stakes has l>een deferred. |||||| The Otago Boxing Association has definitely arranged a match between Whitaker (Wetllngton) and the new champion, McQuairte* The bout will probably take place in Dttpadfn in August.
