DOMINION WINTER SHOW.
OPENS AT HAWERA ON TUESDAY, JULY 4. Arrangements are well in hand for the opening of the big Dominion Winter .Show at Hawera to-morrow week. Entries are excellent in all sections and ensure a very fine display all round. Special mention should be made of the school entries, which are the best ever received. This school section has always been one in which the secretary and committee are particularly keen, and they have always done their utmost to foster interest by school children in the work of exhibiting. Work in the various competitive classes has been handed to the judges and the awards will be made before the show opens. There are an especially good lot of essays in all grades. A feature of the evenings will be the community singing at the show. Arrangements have been made for Mr. A* Gray to take the first evening, Misses Reilly the second, and Mr. H. Ackroyd the third. This should be a distinct attraction. The football fixtures will be Taranaki y. Wellington, with a curtain raiser Taranaki B v. Wanganui B, and Wanganui Collegiate School v. Taranaki Boys’ High School. Altogether appearances point to a most successful show.
