WEDDING.
KIVELL—BASKIN. A very pretty wedding wan solemnised by the Rev. Neal at the Methodist Church, Midhirst, on Thursday, June 1, when Miss Mona Margaret Baskin, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Baskin, of Kent Terrace, was married to Mr. Alfred Louis Kivell (of football fame), eldest son of Mrs. Spray, of Midhirst. . The church was tastefully decorated by friends, with heather and white chrysanthemums. As the bride entered the church, on the arm of her father, the bridal hymn was sung, Miss Middleton presiding at the organ. The bride looked very dainty in her. bridal attire, consisting of white crepe-de-chene and georgette, handsomely embroidered with pearls. Sihe also wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms and carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums and asparagus fern. She was attended by Miss Loi Kivell, only sister of the bridegroom, as bridesmaid, and wore a handsome dress of deep salmon crepe-de-chene, embroidered in black 'beading, with a large black satin hat with trimmings to match, and carried a lovely bouquet. The two little flower girls, Miss Dorothy Mail, of Tariki, and Mias Mollie Simmons, looked sweetly pretty, the former in mauve and the latter in lemon crepe-de-chene, both carrying dainty baskets of flowers and ribbons to match their frocks. Mr. Don Kivell carried out the duties of beat man. A large reception was held in the public hall, where 120 guests partook of a sumptuous wedding breakfast, under the supervision of Mr. McMeekin. After all the toasts had been duly honored and a sheaf of telegrams read, the happy pair left by motor for the south, amid a deluge of confetti and good wishes. The bride’s travelling costume was a navy tailored serge, strapped with braid, a black fur and a becoming toque of fuschia-colored silk panine velvet.
