CYCLONE IN CANADA.
SWEEPS WESTERN PRAIRIES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright Ottawa, June 23. A terrific cyclone swept the Western Canadian prairies from Calgary to Winnipeg. It reached its height at Portage la Prairie, where, roofs of hotels and elevators were blown off. The damage to the wheat fields is most extensive. In one case a standing freight car was driven at high speed by the wind along the track until it collided with a moving train, demolishing the locomotive.
